Villages take land problems in hand

On the Danyi plateau the destruction of natural resources has reached alarming proportions. Because of the erosion and overexploitation of the soil, the yields are decreasing from year to year. Based on ten years of experience in the region, the Danyi project is now focussing on generating income. In eight villages, committed farmers are supported in their search for new markets and in improving their products. The types of cabbage and green beans that occur in the region are promoted, as their biodiversity is known and popular. At the same time, the protection of the environment of reforestation and the management of the community- built infrastructure will continue.
